Language Laboratory

      At present, our language laboratories are located both in the Minglun Campus and Jinming Campus. The laboratories are equipped with more than 1800 sets of equipment (including various kinds of computers, multimedia equipment and audio/video equipment), covering an area of about 2100 square meters in total. There are 17 computer language laboratories with a total of 1684 computers, which are used exclusively by non-English major undergraduates. Language laboratory is an essential infrastructure with a wide range of functions. It greatly facilitates individual study, group discussions and other cooperative learning activities.Unlike ‘chalk and talk’ setting in the traditional classroom, our language laboratory bridges the communication gap between teacher and students,allowing active interactions and providing unique teaching-learning experiences.

 

 

Reading Room:

      Our reading room is an inspiring place to work by accessing to diverse collections and a wide range of books, like research journals, magazines,dictionaries and other resources available for the use of faculty members only. It serves teachers’ academic need in daily life at utmost.

New Horizon Learning Platform

      Based on the Linux operating system, New Horizon Learning Platform (NHLP) is a web-based teaching management platform developed and supported by Beijing Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.The platforms mainly include the following study modules: teaching management, teaching assessment, network courses, teacher-student interaction, lesson preparation center for teacher, student testing center, learning tools for teacher and student, and online self-study learning resources, etc. The NHLP mainly focuses on cultivating undergraduate students' self-learning ability and their comprehensive application ability of foreign language.

 

 

 

New Perspective Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Platform

      Based on strict adherence to modern foreign language teaching methodology and fully use of advanced information technology, New Perspective Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Platform(V5.6 version) focuses on creating an autonomous learning environment for students and emphasizing personalized teaching method to effectively cultivate students’ comprehensive ability  to use English.

 

Lingji Online Study Platform

      Lingji Online Study Platform is a learning-oriented and practice-based computer software program, which provides students with excellent foreign language learning resources as well as opportunities of independent learning. It is perfectly designed to fulfill the language learning needs of students at different levels and accomplish the aim of language proficiency for undergraduate students. Furthermore, it enables teachers to monitor students’ learning effectively and evaluate their performance in time. As a result, it eases the work of language educators. This platform contains a variety of modules such as the course center, the examination center, the multimedia center and the practice center, which greatly cultivate students’ interest in learning English and enhance students’ self-learning competence.
