Every year in spring, we host the English Culture Festival. It comprises a wide range of contests for students on campus, with the goal of promoting language learning, teaching and using through competitions.
The English Culture Festival contains four distinctive competitions: National English Competition for College Students (NECCS for short), Henan University English Speaking Contest, Henan University English Micro-class Competition and Henan University English Vocabulary Competition.
This annual event lasts for months every spring and attracts much attention. It has become a distinctive feature of Henan University, which has won the heart of students and our fellow departments. It is well to be reminded that, since 2000, there are tens of thousands of students who once signed up for four competitions in total.
Through competitions, students’ language ability has been improved, and English education reform has been deepened. What’s more, we foster a culture-rich campus which offers the students a great stage to sharpen their skills and enrich their experience.
