The National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) is the only authoritative national contest testing English comprehensive abilities for college students and it is also one of the most important indicators of the English teaching level in colleges of China.This top-level English competition inspects college students' comprehensive ability of using English which refers to the ability of reading, listening, speaking, writing as well as translating.
NECCS is one of the most concerned competition of all the English Culture Festival events. It gains more and more attention from students, faculty and staff of different departments. The purpose is to investigate our English teaching, comprehensively improve the students’ English language ability, arouse the students' enthusiasm for English learning and encourage the students with great performance. By far, we have organized students to participate in the competition for 19 years and achieved marvelous results. In 2017, we have 463 students who received State Prize, including 16 Special Award winners, 164 Second Prize winners and 267 Third Prize winners, ranking the forefront in Henan province.
