Fordham University is a private research university in New York City. Founded as St. John's College by the Catholic Diocese of New York in 1841,it officially became Fordham University in 1907.It is the oldest Catholic university in the northeastern United States. The University is composed of ten constituent schools, four of which are undergraduate and six are postgraduate,across three campuses in southern New York State: the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx,largely made up of nineteenth-century architecture, with some contemporary buildings, is the main campus of Fordham University, the Lincoln Center campus in Manhattan, and the Westchester campus in West Harrison. In addition to these locations, the university maintains a study abroad center in London and field offices in Spain and South Africa.
Fordham enrolls approximately 15,000 students at present, and its Law, Business, English, History, Social Work, Education, Sociology and Clinical Psychology all enjoy high reputation in the United States.
Besides, Fordham has many notable alumni including U.S. senators and representatives, four cardinals of the Catholic Church, a president of the United States: Donald Trump etc.
